Medpace has announced a fresh hiring drive for 2026, opening applications for the position of Junior Data Engineer at their corporate office in Navi Mumbai, India. This full-time, office-based role is designed for ambitious engineering graduates and entry-level professionals who want to accelerate their careers within the global clinical research domain. If you have completed an internship in data or software engineering and possess a strong command of SQL, as a Junior Data Engineer within the IT division, you will join a highly collaborative team tasked with executing mission-critical data architecture projects. This role bridges the gap between raw data collection and strategic business intelligence, allowing you to sharpen your hands-on mastery over modern cloud infrastructure stacks while supporting clinical development reporting analytics globally.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Data Warehouse Management: Utilize specialized technical skills to deploy, query, and maintain enterprise databases and modern data systems (Snowflake, ANSI SQL, SQL Server, T-SQL).
- ETL/ELT Pipeline Support: Assist with programming, structuring, and monitoring data pipeline architectures using automated integration platforms (dbt, Azure Data Factory, SSIS).
- Business Intelligence Delivery: Design, build, enhance, and debug production-grade business intelligence reporting environments using Microsoft Power BI.
- Requirements Engineering: Interface directly with business systems analysts and end-users to gather, analyze, map, and document structured software parameters.
- Quality Assurance & Testing: Participate actively in systematic software validation workflows by creating, reviewing, and executing rigorous technical test plans and tracking scripts.
- SDLC Alignment: Build software applications by adhering tightly to the standard software development lifecycle blueprint, covering everything from design and testing to cloud release and operational patching.
- End-User Troubleshooting: Provide timely technical application support to internal teams, covering package installations, environment setup, and pipeline monitoring.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Finished Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or an allied technical field.
Experience: Mandatory prior internship experience explicitly focused on Data Engineering or Software Engineering domains.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Solid conceptual knowledge of developing dimensional data models along with a clear awareness of the trade-offs between Star Schema and Snowflake schema layouts
- Strong fundamental knowledge of relational architectures, specifically Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and cloud analytics environments
Competencies:
- Excellent analytical reasoning paired with strong written and oral English communication capabilities
- Familiarity with Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse, Fivetran data integration, and dbt transformations (highly preferred)
- Familiarity with programming clean scripts in Python and handling REST APIs (distinct advantage)
- Basic knowledge of C# programming or cloud application development on Microsoft Azure (added bonus)
