Job Description
MetLife is hiring for the Jr. Software Platform Engineer position in Pune, Maharashtra. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree and 1–4 years of experience in software development, CRM platforms or enterprise application support can apply. The role focuses on Salesforce development, customization, administration, security and enterprise application support. Candidates will work with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, Salesforce Flow and other declarative platform capabilities while collaborating with senior developers, architects and business stakeholders. A Salesforce Certification is required for this position.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support the development, customization and enhancement of Salesforce applications based on business and technical requirements.
- Manage configuration items while minimizing unnecessary Salesforce customization.
- Build and maintain Salesforce solutions using Apex, LWC, SOQL and declarative platform capabilities.
- Collaborate with senior team members to implement new features and resolve defects.
- Perform basic Salesforce administrative activities.
- Set up users and update roles, profiles and permission sets.
- Generate reports and maintain dashboards.
- Support routine Salesforce data updates.
- Troubleshoot platform functionality, access and performance issues.
- Support data imports, exports, validation, cleansing and data-quality activities.
- Support Salesforce integration activities with other enterprise applications.
- Follow coding standards, security guidelines and governance processes.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives.
- Maintain technical documentation, configuration details, support guides and release records.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver Salesforce solutions.
- Continuously improve knowledge of Salesforce technologies and emerging capabilities such as Agentforce.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience: 1–4 years of experience in software development, CRM platforms or enterprise application support. Foundational hands-on experience with Salesforce development and customization.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Salesforce Certification is required
- Knowledge of Apex, Aura, LWC and SOQL
- Understanding of Salesforce declarative capabilities such as Flow and validation rules
- Basic knowledge of Salesforce administration (users, profiles, roles, permission sets, standard security concepts)
- Strong understanding of the Salesforce security model and principles (Users and profiles, Roles and role hierarchy, Permission sets, Object-level access, Field-level security, Record-level access concepts, Salesforce security best practices)
Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn and grow within the Salesforce ecosystem
- Familiarity with REST APIs, SOAP APIs and third-party system connectivity (Preferred)
