Job Description
For the Microsoft Recruitment 2026 drive, the Customer Service & Support (CSS) team is looking for people with a passion for delivering customer success. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will own, troubleshoot, and solve complex customer technical issues. You will leverage advanced troubleshooting tools and practices to resolve large-scale networking and cloud environment challenges. This role also requires you to identify potential product defects and escalate them appropriately, directly contributing to continuous Microsoft product improvements.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Response and Resolution: Take full ownership to investigate, troubleshoot, and solve intricate customer technical issues.
- Collaboration: Collaborate seamlessly within and across global teams, utilizing advanced troubleshooting tools and best practices.
- Readiness & Community: Lead or participate in building communities with peer delivery roles and actively share your technical knowledge.
- Skill Development: Develop specific technical and professional proficiency to enable rapid resolution of customer issues through ongoing training.
- Product/Process Improvement: Identify potential product defects, capture logs/data, and escalate appropriately to drive Microsoft product improvements.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or a closely related field.
Experience: 1+ years of technical support, technical consulting, or IT experience (OR) 3+ years of equivalent experience in lieu of specific degree requirements.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and the OSI model.
- Experience with Infrastructure and Network Administration, including deep troubleshooting in large-scale environments.
- Familiarity with network analysis tools (Wireshark, Network Monitor, Message Analyzer).
- Awareness of Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud models, and hands-on knowledge of Azure Platform services (VM, VNet, NSG, Load Balancer, VPN).
- Understanding of protocols and services such as VPN, IPsec, DHCP, DNS, HTTP/S, MPLS, BGP, and Layer 2/3.
- Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems, Virtualization, and SDN technologies.
Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (fluent reading, writing, speaking).
- Certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-700, AZ-305, or equivalent (Preferred).
- Familiarity with deployment and support of cloud-native applications and Azure DevOps pipelines (Preferred).
