Monotype is actively inviting applications from enthusiastic early-career engineers for the position of Software Engineer Trainee at its technology development center in Noida. Candidates with B.E / B.Tech qualifications (freshers) who possess strong fundamentals in C programming, algorithm design, and modern developer tools are encouraged to submit their applications. This role involves collaborating within an Agile/Scrum team to design, build, and maintain high-quality customer-facing software applications.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Development: Collaborate within a small Agile/Scrum team to design, build, and maintain high-quality customer-facing software applications.
- Testing: Develop comprehensive automated unit and integration tests to support new feature rollouts.
- Product Knowledge: Deepen product knowledge by actively contributing to the development lifecycle of core Monotype applications.
- Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with project stakeholders, peers, and technical leads across teams.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related engineering branches. Batch Focus: Fresh engineering graduates seeking entry-level software engineering trainee positions.
Experience: Freshers (0 Years).
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Deep, practical command over C language and data structures/algorithms is mandatory.
- Solid grasp of memory optimization, platform-independent coding, and computational complexity analysis (Time & Space Complexity).
- Hands-on experience working with Visual Studio or Makefiles.
- Practical familiarity with Git, GitHub workflows, and feature branching strategies.
Competencies:
- Working knowledge of Python programming language (Good-to-Have).
- Familiarity with modern AI coding tools and assistants such as Cursor, ChatGPT, or Claude (Good-to-Have).
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills for effective team collaboration (Good-to-Have).
