Job Description
As a Software Engineer at NetApp, you will be part of an exceptionally talented engineering team responsible for product development, test plans, and automation, focusing on delivering innovative, enterprise-class storage technologies. You will be involved in the end-to-end development lifecycle, from high-level architecture to systemic testing and long-term maintenance of existing storage products. The role requires deep technical proficiency in Systems Engineering, applying knowledge of operating systems, file systems, and computer architecture to build scalable data solutions, and ensuring NetApp’s technologies remain cutting-edge.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Software Development: Develop and maintain high-performance software using C/C++ in Linux/Unix environments.
- System Design: Apply standard software engineering practices to design scalable and maintainable systems.
- Product Development: Collaborate on product development, including high-level design and feature implementation.
- Automation & Testing: Drive automation and systemic testing including Scale, Regression, and Integration testing.
- Technology Enhancement: Work with internal teams to enhance existing technologies and address customer requirements.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize system performance and troubleshoot complex issues within file systems and networking.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for design, testing, and operational runbooks.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure product quality meets enterprise-class standards before market release.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech/PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience: Experienced Professionals.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Strong development experience with C/C++ (mandatory)
- Proficiency in LINUX/UNIX systems and shell scripting
- Solid understanding of Computer Architecture, OS, File Systems, and Algorithms
- Practical experience in Automation, Integration, System, and Scale testing
- Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) (Preferred)
