Job Description
NTT DATA is hiring for the Associate Engineer position in Chennai, open to freshers and experienced candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. The role involves software development, automated testing, cloud technologies, microservices, RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and CI/CD. Candidates will contribute to the development, integration, deployment, and maintenance of software solutions, gaining exposure to public cloud platforms, container technologies, SQL/NoSQL databases, Agile, Lean methodologies, DevOps, and AI/ML concepts. Strong programming and problem-solving skills are essential.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design and develop software solutions based on detailed technical instructions.
- Assist with writing and testing application code.
- Support the execution of automated testing.
- Participate in software deployment activities with relevant stakeholders.
- Help deliver software components in collaboration with product teams.
- Support solution integration through automation, coding, and third-party software.
- Assist with designing, building, and debugging large-scale distributed systems.
- Write, update, and maintain technical documentation.
- Maintain end-user documentation and operational procedures.
- Assist with refactoring existing software code.
- Participate in code reviews of software written by other developers.
- Perform other related engineering activities as required.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc also listed).
Experience: Freshers / Experienced (basic to entry-level understanding of software development).
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Programming: Knowledge of C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Node.js
- Data Structures and Algorithms (Understanding of software design concepts)
- Microservices (Knowledge of microservices-based software architecture)
- REST APIs (Experience or understanding of API product development)
- Databases: Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL data stores (Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Cassandra mentioned)
- Cloud: Basic understanding of AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office 365
- Containers: Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, LXC/LXD
- CI/CD (Understanding of continuous integration and delivery concepts)
- DevOps (Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and software deployments)
- Testing (Understanding of automated testing and test-driven development)
- Data and AI: Familiarity with large datasets and application of ML/AI algorithms
Competencies:
- Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals (preferred)
- Relevant Agile certifications (preferred)
- Strong programming and problem-solving skills
