Job Description
NTT DATA Recruitment 2026 is hiring for the position of Associate Engineer in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The opportunity is open to freshers and experienced candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. The role involves software development, automated testing, cloud technologies, microservices, RESTful APIs, distributed systems, CI/CD and data-driven processes. Candidates will work with multiple stakeholders and contribute to the development, integration, deployment and maintenance of software solutions. The position also provides exposure to public cloud platforms, container technologies, SQL and NoSQL databases, Agile and Lean methodologies, DevOps and AI/ML concepts. Candidates with strong programming and problem-solving skills can be relevant for this opportunity.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Software Development: Design and develop software solutions based on detailed technical instructions.
- Coding & Testing: Assist with writing and testing application code.
- Automated Testing: Support the execution of automated testing.
- Deployment: Participate in software deployment activities with relevant stakeholders.
- Delivery: Help deliver software components in collaboration with product teams.
- Integration: Support solution integration through automation, coding and third-party software.
- System Design: Assist with designing, building and debugging large-scale distributed systems.
- Documentation: Write, update and maintain technical documentation, including end-user documentation and operational procedures.
- Code Refactoring & Review: Assist with refactoring existing software code and participate in code reviews of software written by other developers.
- Engineering Activities: Perform other related engineering activities as required.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline. B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc are also mentioned.
Experience: Freshers and experienced candidates. Basic to entry-level understanding of software development.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of languages such as C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python and Node.js.
- Understanding of algorithms, data structures and software design concepts.
- Knowledge of microservices-based software architecture.
- Experience or understanding of API product development and RESTful services.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL data stores.
- Basic understanding of AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Office 365.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker and container runtimes such as LXC/LXD.
- Understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery concepts and tools.
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and software deployments (DevOps).
- Understanding of automated testing and test-driven development.
- Familiarity with large datasets and the application of ML/AI algorithms.
- Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals and relevant Agile certifications are preferred.
