Job Description
PlayPower Labs Recruitment 2026 is hiring freshers for a Software Engineer position that is fully remote across India. The role is part of the Engineering department and is designed for candidates who want to build real products rather than only work on tutorial-based projects. PlayPower Labs develops software for leading EdTech companies and works on products involving advanced technology, education data, AI and personalized learning experiences. The Software Engineer role provides exposure to Angular, React, Java, Node.js, AI tools, AI agents and MCPs, along with secure software development and modern engineering practices. Roles and Responsibilities
- Feature Development: Build product features using Angular/React and Java/Node.js.
- Code Review: Review personal code and carefully review AI-generated code.
- Security-First Approach: Apply security-first thinking throughout the development lifecycle.
- Authentication & Validation: Handle authentication, permissions and input validation appropriately.
- AI Tool Usage: Use AI tools, agents, MCPs and automation for development, debugging and testing.
- Rapid Learning: Learn new technologies quickly and apply them to real product requirements.
- Contribution: Contribute ideas and improvements to product and engineering workflows.
- Ownership & Delivery: Take ownership of assigned work and deliver with speed and quality.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Freshers or early-career candidate interested in software engineering.
Experience: Strong fundamentals in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, APIs, databases and Git. Exposure to Angular or React. Exposure to Java or Node.js. Knowledge gained through projects, internships, coursework or self-learning is relevant.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Strong fundamentals in JavaScript or TypeScript, including functions, objects, arrays, asynchronous programming and modern application development concepts.
- Solid understanding of HTML and CSS is required for building clean, responsive and user-friendly interfaces.
- Practical exposure to Angular or React through projects, internships, coursework or self-learning.
- Exposure to backend development using Java or Node.js. Candidates should understand how backend applications expose APIs and interact with databases.
- Understand basic API concepts and database fundamentals and know how frontend applications communicate with backend services.
- Basic Git knowledge is required for source-code management and collaborative software development.
- Familiarity with the use of AI tools, agents and MCPs for coding assistance, debugging, testing and learning.
- Basic understanding of application security (authentication, authorization, input validation, secrets management, dependency security, OWASP fundamentals) and safe use of AI tools.
- Basic knowledge of cloud computing, Docker fundamentals, CI/CD concepts and automated software delivery.
