Job Description
As a Python Developer (Analyst) within BlackRock's Global Product Solutions group, you will be part of the Investment and Portfolio Solutions (IPS) Technology division. You will design and maintain highly sophisticated, modular analytical applications that power multi-asset portfolio construction, portfolio risk management, and international client advisory engines. This premier opportunity for engineering freshers and quantitative developers involves becoming a founding member of a localized engineering squad, focusing on robust software solutions in a dynamic financial technology environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Architecture & Development: Developing highly scalable, clean, and modular backend tools in Python to process enterprise financial data points across multiple cloud environments.
- Project Management: Mapping tactical short-term data adjustments and planning long-term software paths that align cleanly with broader technological goals.
- Execution: Driving standalone modules through independent development, testing, validation, and release cycles within an active engineering squad.
- Technology Audit: Auditing and adopting up-to-date code patterns, performance updates, and data practices internally to maintain high standards.
- Collaboration: Interfacing across diverse regional teams, asset management groups, and portfolio consulting desks to translate financial requirements into code.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Full-time Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or Quantitative Sciences.
Experience: Freshers / Early Career Developers.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Expert-level conceptual and hands-on familiarity with Python
- Relational database language engines utilizing SQL
- (Beneficial): Snowflake Data Warehousing, Flask API creation, Streamlit rapid app frameworks, Microsoft Azure instances, Redis caching memory structures, containerized deployment arrays using Docker.
Competencies:
- Strong programmatic logic
- Active interest in portfolio management data frameworks
- Clean understanding of structured software delivery cycles using Agile and Scrum project management methodologies
- High enthusiasm to master financial analytical data concepts and interface with market systems like Aladdin, MPI, Bloomberg, Morningstar, or FactSet.
