Job Description

As a CAD/EDA Methodology Engineer, you will help develop and maintain automation solutions that support ASIC Front-End design teams. Instead of developing conventional consumer applications, you will build scripts, tools, automation frameworks, and infrastructure that improve the productivity of hardware design engineers. You will analyze existing design workflows, identify inefficiencies, and develop software-based solutions to make engineering processes more scalable and usable.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Automation Development: Develop, maintain, and enhance automation tools supporting ASIC Front-End design flows. Build and improve infrastructure used by hardware design teams.
- Workflow Analysis: Analyze existing engineering workflows and identify opportunities for automation.
- Software Design: Design software solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and usability.
- Implementation: Implement automation and software solutions using Python, Perl, C++, or similar programming languages.
- Debugging & Troubleshooting: Debug and troubleshoot CAD tools, scripts, and automation frameworks. Investigate technical issues and implement appropriate solutions.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with CAD engineers and hardware design teams to understand requirements.
- Delivery & Support: Deliver automation solutions based on internal engineering requirements. Support internal users in adopting existing and newly developed engineering tools.
- Methodology Improvement: Contribute to documentation and tool validation activities. Improve engineering methodologies and development workflows.
- Innovation: Explore AI/ML-based approaches for improving EDA tools and front-end design productivity.
- Teamwork: Work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable engineering solutions.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in Electronics or VLSI.
Experience: 0–1 year of experience in CAD/EDA automation, software development, or RTL design.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Strong programming skills in Python, Perl, C++, or similar languages.
- Good understanding of software development, debugging, and problem-solving techniques.
- Experience or exposure to CAD/EDA automation, software development, or RTL design.
- Basic understanding of ASIC Front-End design flow is desirable.
- Familiarity with RTL concepts is beneficial.
- Experience working in Linux or Unix environments and scripting is a plus.
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts and their application to engineering workflows is advantageous.
