Job Description
As a CAD/EDA Methodology Engineer, you will help develop and maintain automation solutions that support ASIC Front-End design teams. The role combines software development with semiconductor engineering. Instead of developing conventional consumer applications, you will build scripts, tools, automation frameworks, and infrastructure that improve the productivity of hardware design engineers. You will analyze existing design workflows, identify inefficiencies, and develop software-based solutions to make engineering processes more scalable and usable. Python is the preferred programming language mentioned in the job description, while Perl and C++ are also relevant. Candidates should therefore have a strong programming foundation and be comfortable debugging scripts and software tools.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Automation Development: Develop, maintain, and enhance automation tools supporting ASIC Front-End design flows.
- Infrastructure Building: Build and improve infrastructure used by hardware design teams.
- Workflow Analysis: Analyze existing engineering workflows and identify opportunities for automation.
- Solution Design: Design software solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and usability.
- Implementation: Implement automation and software solutions using Python, Perl, C++, or similar programming languages.
- Debugging: Debug and troubleshoot CAD tools, scripts, and automation frameworks.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate technical issues and implement appropriate solutions.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with CAD engineers and hardware design teams to understand requirements.
- Solution Delivery: Deliver automation solutions based on internal engineering requirements.
- User Support: Support internal users in adopting existing and newly developed engineering tools.
- Documentation & Validation: Contribute to documentation and tool validation activities.
- Methodology Improvement: Improve engineering methodologies and development workflows.
- AI/ML Exploration: Explore AI/ML-based approaches for improving EDA tools and front-end design productivity.
- Team Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable engineering solutions.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in Electronics or VLSI is specified in the Educational Qualification Requirement.
Experience: "0–1 year of experience in CAD/EDA automation, software development, or RTL design" (from Required Skills section, see description for full detail on experience ranges).
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Strong programming skills in Python, Perl, C++, or similar languages.
- Good understanding of software development, debugging, and problem-solving techniques.
- Experience or exposure to CAD/EDA automation, software development, or RTL design.

- Familiarity with RTL concepts is beneficial.
