Job Description

For the S&P Global Recruitment 2026 drive, the team is seeking an experienced Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance enterprise applications. You will operate in a dynamic environment, transitioning seamlessly between backend development, API integrations, and cloud deployments. You will collaborate closely with architects, product managers, and finance stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable solutions. A deep understanding of cloud-native development —specifically using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS—is essential for this role.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Application Development: Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance Java applications.
  • Cloud Integration: Utilizing cloud platforms ( AWS ), containerization ( Docker ), and orchestration ( Kubernetes ) for cloud-native deployment.
  • Full SDLC: Participating in the complete software development lifecycle—from requirements gathering to design, testing, and deployment.
  • Code Optimization: Optimizing application performance, troubleshooting complex issues, and participating in code reviews to enforce best practices.
  • Collaboration: Working effectively with cross-functional and multi-national teams to align technical solutions with business needs.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Java development.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in Java 17+ and Spring Framework 6
  • Strong proficiency with Hibernate and building RESTful APIs
  • Experience in Cloud-Native environments: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented principles

Competencies:

  • Financial knowledge, familiarity with finance jargon, or prior experience in fintech
  • Enthusiasm for or familiarity with Data Science / Machine Learning
  • Demonstrable experience in scoped application development
