Job Description
DarkRange Systems is offering a Security Engineering Intern opportunity in Bengaluru. The internship is designed for final-year or recent Computer Science and Cybersecurity students who have hands-on exposure to cybersecurity labs, Capture The Flag (CTF) challenges, scripting, and offensive security tools. The internship will run for 3–6 months and will be part of the DarkRange security research team. Selected interns will work alongside senior researchers on penetration testing, vulnerability research, and offensive security automation tooling. The role is particularly suited to students who have practical experience through platforms such as Hack The Box, TryHackMe, or CTF competitions and who are interested in developing a career in offensive security and security research. The Security Engineering Intern will join DarkRange Systems' security research team for a 3–6 month internship, providing practical exposure to offensive security activities carried out alongside experienced security researchers, focusing on real penetration testing, vulnerability research, and offensive automation tooling. This makes the internship relevant to candidates who want to build hands-on cybersecurity experience and understand how security research is performed in practical environments.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Penetration Testing: Work on real penetration testing activities alongside senior researchers, assessing systems and applications for security weaknesses in an authorized environment.
- Vulnerability Research: Investigate software or systems to identify security weaknesses and understand how those weaknesses can be demonstrated and responsibly reported.
- Offensive Security Automation: Build offensive automation tooling using Python and Bash scripting to automate repetitive security tasks, process results, integrate security tools, and build research utilities.
- Collaboration: Work alongside experienced security researchers.
- Learning: Investigate unfamiliar systems, learn independently, ask effective technical questions, experiment in authorized lab environments, document findings clearly, learn from feedback, and turn research findings into practical improvements or tooling.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Final-year or recent student in Computer Science or Cybersecurity
Experience: Hands-on experience with Hack The Box, TryHackMe, or CTFs. Practical cybersecurity experience through platforms such as Hack The Box, TryHackMe, or CTF competitions. Student / Internship level.
