Job Description
For the Microsoft Internship 2026 program, the team is looking for a Security Research Intern to design and conduct security research. This role focuses on understanding the threat landscape with the intent to disrupt adversaries. You will help generate solutions including first-party mitigation and work closely with customers and partners.
The intern will be involved in malware analysis, adversary tracking, and detection development. You will also contribute code to automate solutions for security issues such as signature detection and reverse engineering.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Threat Analysis: Analyzing threat trends and anomalies to determine operational impact and identifying vectors that introduce threats.
- Malware Research: Conducting research including malware analysis, adversary tracking, and reverse engineering.
- Automation: Contributing code to technical implementation and automation of solutions (signature detection, threat analysis).
- Vulnerability Management: Identifying security defects, vulnerabilities, and deficiencies in security guidance.
- Reporting: Processing threat reporting from internal/external sources and providing discrete threat data.
- Incident Response: Responding to incidents for systems or products as needed and using pen-testing results to improve services.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
