Job Description
For the Sense Internship 2026 drive, the Core Engineering team is looking for interns to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to live production systems. You will work across the full backend stack—including APIs, databases, caching layers, and cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with experienced engineers to optimize performance and solve practical engineering problems.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Backend Development: Designing and implementing backend services using Java and related technologies.
- API Design: Building and optimizing APIs and microservices that power key product features.
- Database Management: Working with MySQL and MongoDB to design efficient data models and write optimized queries.
- Performance: Using Redis for caching and performance optimization where needed.
- Cloud Ops: Learning and working with AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, and IAM.
- Debugging: Troubleshooting and resolving issues in both development and production environments.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Solid programming skills in Java.
- Understanding of Relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
- Familiarity with Redis or other caching technologies.
- Basic knowledge of AWS cloud concepts.
Competencies:
