Job Description
For the GE Vernova drive, the company is seeking a Service Specialist to provide maintenance support for IT infrastructure and the network of installed base SCADA/EMS systems. This role is primarily site-based, involving technical support for control centers across India.
You will act as the technical resource for service-related issues involving Networking, Compute (Servers), and Security (Firewalls). The role requires flexibility for relocation and willingness to travel for long-term site deputation.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a Service Specialist at GE Vernova, your key responsibilities will include:
- Network Support: Configuration and troubleshooting of L2/L3 networks, Switches, and Routers (Cisco, HP, Juniper). Managing Routing protocols and ACLs.
- Security Management: Configuration and troubleshooting of Firewalls (FortiGate, Checkpoint, Palo Alto) including policies, App Ctrl, and IPS/DOS.
- Compute & Storage: Managing Server hardware (HP/DELL/IBM), Backups, Storage hardware, and RAID controllers.
- OS Administration: Delivering support for Windows Server (2025/2022/2016) and Linux Platforms (RHEL 5.x/6.x onwards).
- Tool Management: Hands-on experience with tools like Zoho NMS, SCCM, SCOM, Syslog, SIEM, and Active Directory.
- Site Support: Providing 24×7 support for severe issues and connecting with upstream/downstream teams for service readiness.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for GE Vernova drive, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: B.Tech in Electronics and Communication, Computer Science Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 0-3 years of experience in SCADA/EMS/DMS/WAMS systems.
- Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Networking (Switches, Routers, Protocols).
- Experience with Firewalls (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, etc.).
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
- Knowledge of Server Hardware and Storage Management.
- Soft Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
