Job Description
Siemens Gamesa Recruitment 2026 is inviting applications for the position of Intern – Software Development and Testing in Bangalore, Karnataka. This internship is suitable for students currently pursuing B.Tech or M.Tech in engineering disciplines such as Control & Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related fields. The Siemens Gamesa internship provides an opportunity to work with engineering teams developing software tools and workflows for advanced wind turbine control technologies. Candidates with knowledge of Python, MATLAB, LaTeX, Object-Oriented Programming, Software Testing, Git, CI/CD and Agile development tools can be a strong fit for this role. The position is part of the Loads and Controls Engineering Department within the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Technology organization, providing exposure to complex engineering problems and software development activities in an international environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Software Tool Development: Assist in designing and programming functions in MATLAB and Python for automated reporting and controller validation workflows.
- Software Testing & Validation: Support testing and validation of new and existing software tools, helping to ensure software functionality, reliability and performance.
- Debugging: Collaborate with engineers to debug software and improve tool performance.
- Automation & CI/CD: Support the implementation and improvement of automated build, test and CI/CD procedures.
- Documentation: Assist in maintaining technical documentation, user guides and development notes.
- Reporting & Presentations: Support the creation of data analysis reports and technical presentations.
- Certification Support: Assist with preparation of controller certification documents.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (B.Tech, preferably 3rd or 4th year) or Master's degree (M.Tech, preferably 1st year) in Control & Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
Experience: No prior professional work experience is required. Academic projects, personal projects and hands-on programming experience can be valuable for demonstrating technical ability.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Ability to write clean and functional Python programs for engineering and automation tasks.
- Understanding of MATLAB programming for automated reporting and controller validation workflows.
- Ability to prepare technical documentation and engineering reports using LaTeX.
- Understanding of classes, objects, inheritance and modular software design (Object-Oriented Programming).
- Basic understanding of validating software tools and identifying functional issues (Software Testing).
- Knowledge of Git or other distributed version control systems such as Mercurial.
- Familiarity with continuous integration pipelines and tools such as GitLab, Jenkins and Artifactory.
Competencies:
- Exposure to Agile tools such as Jira is beneficial.
- Ability to analyze technical problems and identify practical solutions (Problem-Solving).
- Strong written and spoken communication skills for working with engineering teams.
