Job Description
Siemens Gamesa Recruitment 2026 is inviting applications for the position of Intern – Software Development and Testing in Bangalore, Karnataka. This internship is suitable for students currently pursuing B.Tech or M.Tech in engineering disciplines such as Control & Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related fields. The Siemens Gamesa internship provides an opportunity to work with engineering teams developing software tools and workflows for advanced wind turbine control technologies. Candidates with knowledge of Python, MATLAB, LaTeX, Object-Oriented Programming, Software Testing, Git, CI/CD and Agile development tools can be a strong fit for this role. The position is part of the Loads and Controls Engineering Department within the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Technology organization, providing exposure to complex engineering problems and software development activities in an international environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and programming functions in MATLAB and Python for automated reporting and controller validation workflows.
- Support testing and validation of new and existing software tools.
- Help ensure software functionality, reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with engineers to debug software and improve tool performance.
- Support the implementation and improvement of automated build, test and CI/CD procedures.
- Assist in maintaining technical documentation, user guides and development notes.
- Support the creation of data analysis reports and technical presentations.
- Assist with preparation of controller certification documents.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree such as B.Tech (preferably 3rd or 4th year) or Master's degree such as M.Tech (preferably 1st year) in Control & Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or a related field.
Experience: No prior professional experience required. Academic projects, personal projects and hands-on programming experience can be valuable.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Python Programming: Ability to write clean and functional Python programs for engineering and automation tasks.
- MATLAB: Understanding of MATLAB programming for automated reporting and controller validation workflows.
- LaTeX: Ability to prepare technical documentation and engineering reports.
- Object-Oriented Programming: Understanding of classes, objects, inheritance and modular software design.
- Software Testing: Basic understanding of validating software tools and identifying functional issues.
- Git and Version Control: Knowledge of Git or other distributed version control systems such as Mercurial.
- CI/CD: Familiarity with continuous integration pipelines and tools such as GitLab, Jenkins and Artifactory.
Competencies:
- Agile Tools: Exposure to tools such as Jira is beneficial.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze technical problems and identify practical solutions.
- Communication: Strong written and spoken communication skills for working with engineering teams.
