Job Description

Are you ready to engineer the future of global transportation? Siemens is officially inviting applications for the Software Developer – Train IT role. As a Software Developer – Train IT at Siemens under the Siemens Recruitment 2026 drive, you will take ownership of developing and maintaining diagnostic and data analysis platforms for innovative rail vehicles. Your work ensures that Siemens locomotives are equipped with robust software architectures for remote data transmission and landside communication. Following the V-Model approach, you will handle end-to-end responsibility for application software—from gathering and structuring requirements to implementing solution concepts and architectures. As a Linux expert, you will implement software for embedded systems and collaborate with global stakeholders to carry out software integration and testing directly on vehicles.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Requirement Definition: Define system requirements and interface specifications for vehicle diagnostics systems.
  • Architecture Design: Gather, analyze, and structure software requirements to create robust solution architectures.
  • Software Implementation: Implement new software for embedded systems using C++ and Python on the Linux OS.
  • Device Integration: Integrate external devices to vehicle control for diagnostics management and landside communication.
  • Development Process: Follow the V-Model approach for application software upgrades and end-to-to development.
  • Testing & Integration: Perform software integration and on-vehicle testing to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with global teams and provide technical advisory support to other development engineers.
  • Management Support: Support configuration management and change request processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Experience: Freshers / Experienced.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in structured and object-oriented development using C++ and Python.
  • Proficient with the Linux operating system for embedded applications.

Competencies:

  • Familiarity with standards like IEC 50128, IEC 61131, and TCN protocols.
  • Basic knowledge of requirement engineering and configuration management.
  • Strong analytical thinking, independent working style, and excellent communication skills.
