Job Description

As a Software Engineer at NetApp, you will be part of a talented engineering team focusing on product development, test plans, and automation. Your primary focus will be delivering innovative technologies with enterprise-class quality, covering the end-to-end development lifecycle from high-level architecture to systemic testing and maintenance of storage products.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Software Development: Develop and maintain high-performance software using C/C++ in Linux/Unix environments.
  • System Design: Apply standard software engineering practices to design scalable and maintainable systems.
  • Product Development: Collaborate on product development, including high-level design and feature implementation.
  • Testing & Automation: Drive automation and systemic testing including Scale, Regression, and Integration testing.
  • Technology Enhancement: Work with internal teams to enhance existing technologies and address customer requirements.
  • Performance & Troubleshooting: Optimize system performance and troubleshoot complex issues within file systems and networking.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for design, testing, and operational runbooks.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure product quality meets enterprise-class standards before market release.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech/PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Strong development experience with C/C++
  • Proficiency in LINUX/UNIX systems and shell scripting
  • Solid understanding of Computer Architecture, OS, File Systems, and Algorithms
  • Practical experience in Automation, Integration, System, and Scale testing
  • Knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) (Preferred)

Competencies:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills for global collaboration
