Role: Software Test Automation Engineer (Optical Product Test Engineer) Location: India Experience: 2025 / 2026 graduating candidate Qualification: BE, BTech, ME, MTech, or MS Research Key Skills: Python, Test Automation, Layer 1 & 2 Networking, Optical Hardware Testing, IXIA, CI/CD
Job Description
This specialized engineering role at Lumilens combines software test automation, networking, optical hardware testing, lab instrumentation, and manufacturing test engineering. Engineers will develop Python-based test frameworks and use them to validate real optical hardware and network systems, including testing at Layer 1 and Layer 2, working with traffic generators such as IXIA, and validating hardware-software integration. The position also involves debugging defects and creating automated tests for optical components and manufacturing environments. This role is ideal for candidates interested in the intersection of software, networking, electronics, and optical technology.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Test Automation Development: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test cases and build reusable Python-based frameworks for testing optical products and network systems.
- Product Validation: Perform functional, regression, and performance testing of Layer 1 and Layer 2 systems. Validate hardware and software integration with optical interfaces and network switches.
- Traffic Generation: Work with traffic generators such as IXIA to create controlled network traffic and measure system behavior.
- Manufacturing Test Automation: Support high-volume optical component manufacturing by developing and maintaining software for testing manufactured optical components, including script creation, maintenance, and change control.
- Debugging & Troubleshooting: Debug problems in complex networking environments and manage defects.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Documentation: Create test documentation.
