Job Description
As a Systems Engineer at Emerson, you will work on full-stack software development using C#.NET and SQL, supporting custom in-house Manufacturing Execution Software applications and databases. You will translate business requirements into technical specifications, collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering teams to develop and test software features, and contribute to solutions that improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and automation. The role involves supporting production, troubleshooting issues, and participating in digital transformation initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work on full-stack software development using C#.NET and SQL.
- Support custom in-house Manufacturing Execution Software applications and databases.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for software development.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering teams to develop, set up and test software features.
- Contribute to solutions that improve manufacturing efficiency, quality and automation.
- Collaborate with a global team of software engineers on projects, production support and software maintenance activities.
- Develop and support software integrations with equipment, devices and systems.
- Develop and document software designs using Object-Oriented techniques.
- Manage source code using TFS Version Control and Azure DevOps.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing production software issues.
- Share ideas and solutions for improvements and innovations for supported software.
- Perform basic database administration on Windows operating systems and SQL servers.
- Work on digital transformation initiatives involving data transformation and Power BI.
Skills and Eligibility Criteria
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Candidates with BCA, MCA, BCS and MCS qualifications may also be eligible.
Experience: Experience in software development and a good understanding of object-oriented design and analysis through academic projects or work experience.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Experience with Microsoft development tools, Windows operating system and Microsoft SQL.
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI and SSRS.
- Working knowledge of C#, ASP.NET and SQL (Preferred).
- Familiarity with SSIS and SSRS (Preferred).
- Knowledge of Office Suite or Power BI (Preferred).
- Familiarity with TFS Version Control (Preferred).
- Understanding of Azure DevOps (Preferred).
