Job Description

For the Thermo Fisher Recruitment 2026 drive, the team is seeking an IT professional to support day-to-day IT operations while heavily contributing to automation initiatives. You will be tasked with enhancing system reliability, operational efficiency, and scalability across enterprise environments. You will administer and support core Windows and Linux servers, monitor system health, and ensure seamless performance. A proactive approach is necessary as you develop and optimize automation scripts, ensuring smooth patch management and routine maintenance activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • System Administration: Administer and provide robust support for Windows and/or Linux servers and critical enterprise applications.
  • Monitoring: Continuously monitor system health, performance, and availability to guarantee optimal operation and minimize downtime.
  • Maintenance & Upgrades: Actively support patch management, system upgrades, and routine maintenance activities across the IT infrastructure.
  • Automation: Develop, maintain, and optimize automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar languages to improve operational efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed system documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational runbooks.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in IT administration and/or automation.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
  • Proficiency in application administration and support.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of distribution or supply chain functional processes.
  • Experience with tools like Precision, WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), or E1 (JD Edwards EnterpriseOne).
