Job Description

Unisys Recruitment 2026 is hiring for the position of Associate Engineer Software Application Engineer – AB Suite in Bangalore, Karnataka. The role is a full-time opportunity focused on enterprise application development, application support, maintenance, testing and deployment using the Unisys Agile Business Suite (AB Suite). The selected candidate will work with senior developers, technical leads and business analysts to develop, debug, test and maintain enterprise applications. The role also includes L2/L3 application support, production incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, documentation and continuous improvement activities. The position is suitable for early-career candidates who have basic software development knowledge, programming fundamentals, database awareness and a strong willingness to learn enterprise technologies such as AB Suite, MCP, EAE, DMSII and related systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Application Development: Participate in the design, development, testing and implementation of AB Suite applications; Develop, debug and unit test application components under the guidance of senior team members; Assist in developing application components such as Ispecs, Reports, Classes, Methods and Services; Perform code fixes and enhancements for existing business applications; Create and maintain technical documentation related to assigned development tasks; Follow software engineering standards, coding guidelines and development best practices.
  • Application Support & Maintenance: Support L2/L3 application maintenance activities; Analyze and resolve application issues within agreed service levels; Assist with production incident troubleshooting and root-cause analysis; Support deployment, implementation and validation activities; Monitor application performance; Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Learning & Collaboration: Work closely with senior developers, technical leads and business analysts; Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities; Build knowledge of AB Suite, MCP and related technologies; Participate in transition and knowledge-acquisition activities when required; Collaborate with globally distributed teams.
  • Quality & Process Excellence: Develop unit tests and support system testing activities; Follow secure coding and quality standards; Follow SDLC, Agile and software development lifecycle processes; Report progress, risks, issues and dependencies in a timely manner; Contribute to automation and process-improvement initiatives where applicable.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: BA/BS degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: 0–3 years of experience in application development, support, testing or maintenance (or 0-2 years of relevant experience).

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Basic software development knowledge and programming principles
  • Debugging (ability to analyze and resolve application issues)
  • Testing (understanding of unit testing and system testing)
  • Databases (knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, DMSII or other RDBMS technologies)
  • SDLC (familiarity with software development lifecycle processes)

Competencies:

  • Understanding or willingness to learn Unisys Agile Business Suite (AB Suite)
  • Exposure to object-oriented programming concepts (desirable)
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (preferred)
  • Strong willingness to learn enterprise application technologies
