Job Description

The Apprentice – 3 role at VIAVI Solutions in Chennai focuses on software product and platform development, contributing to next-generation SaaS products. The selected candidate will work in an engineering environment emphasizing software quality, peer review, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This position covers both frontend (Angular) and backend technologies (Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate), database technologies, microservices, and introduces Agentic AI tools.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Product Development: Contribute to the development of next-generation SaaS products and platforms.
  • Software Quality: Develop high-quality software products.
  • Process Improvement: Support the implementation and continuous improvement of formal software development processes.
  • Code Reviews: Participate in peer code reviews as part of the development workflow.
  • Rapid Development: Work effectively within rapid development cycles and tight schedules.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with QA and product management teams.
  • Best Practices: Follow engineering best practices for developing high-quality products.
  • Team Contribution: Contribute ideas to improve team productivity, job satisfaction and code quality.
  • Frontend Development: Use Angular for frontend development.
  • Core Java Development: Use Core Java for software development.
  • Backend Frameworks: Work with Spring, Spring Boot microservices, Spring MVC and Hibernate.
  • Database Technologies: Work with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Skill Application: Apply knowledge gained through full-stack software development training.

Skills and Eligibility Criteria

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Science, IT, Computing or an equivalent field. Candidates should have completed Full Stack Software Development training.

Mandatory Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Angular and completion of relevant training
  • Knowledge of Core Java and completion of relevant training
  • Knowledge of Spring and Spring Boot
  • Knowledge of Spring MVC
