Job Description
Virtual Simutech is conducting a Consolidated Internship Program – CAD & CAE for engineering students and graduates. This 6-month program provides practical exposure to real-world engineering workflows, industry tools, simulation, design optimization, automation, and digital engineering, with opportunities across CAD Engineering, Moldflow, CAE Structural Optimization, and CAE/CFD Process Automation using Python and AI/ML. The internship is conducted in Pune and Bangalore, and includes an online assessment, technical interview, and behavioral/HR interview, with a potential PPO/Graduate Engineer Trainee opportunity.
Roles and Responsibilities
- CAD Engineer: Create sketches, parts, assemblies, and engineering drawings; Apply GD&T, fits, and tolerances; Consider manufacturing feasibility; Support plastics, sheet metal, BIW, and simulation-ready modeling; Prepare BOMs, ECN documentation, design logs, and revision history; Participate in design reviews; Present final project outcomes.
- CAE Structural Optimization: Identify suitable component for weight reduction; Perform baseline FEA; Define materials, loads, and boundary conditions; Set optimization objectives and constraints; Run topology, topography, size, shape, or free-shape optimization; Interpret optimization results; Reconstruct optimized CAD geometry; Validate final design through FEA; Prepare validation report and presentation.
- CAE/CFD Process Automation: Identify CAE/CFD workflows suitable for automation; Develop modular Python scripts integrated with CAE APIs; Collect, clean, and organize simulation data; Train and validate basic AI/ML models; Use AI/ML for prediction, optimization, or decision support; Document methodology and script usage; Measure workflow efficiency improvements; Prepare technical report and presentation.
- Moldflow: Perform filling, packing, cooling, and warpage analysis; Support mold optimization; Prepare simulation reports; Collaborate with design and tooling teams.
